Sibling Weekend

Send your ISU students’ siblings to campus to check out all of the fun activities available during Sibling Weekend at ISU! We have activities planned for all age groups!

Dine for free

Campus Dining invites all Meal Plan Holders to bring up to two family members to dine for free for one meal in any dining center during Sibling Weekend.  A reservation form will be emailed directly to all Meal Plan Holders in April. Students must submit this form by April 18 in order to take advantage of this offer.

  • Gamma Phi Circus Spring Show
    Tickets will be on sale from Tuesday, February 14, 2012, 10 a.m. - Thursday, April 19, 2012, 4 p.m. Tickets may be purchased through Ticketmaster and Braden Box Office. Special price and seating for alumni at the Gamma Phi Circus.

  • UPB Game Night

    Come and enjoy some quality time with your sibling and challenge them in bowling or a round of billiards! There will be free admission into the Bowling and Billiards Center from 6pm – 12am.

    There will also be a free game truck full of game systems like Wii and Xbox in the Bone Parking Lot from 8 – 10pm. Follow the University Program Board on twitter at @ISU_UPB and you will be in the running to win a game system!

Saturday, April 21

  • Campus Information Sessions
    Join the Office of Admissions for a special Campus Information Session for high school siblings of current Illinois State students on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 9 a.m. During the session, an admissions counselor will explain the college selection and application process, including: admission requirements; important dates and deadlines; and applying for financial aid and scholarships.

    You'll also tour the campus, including a residence hall, with a current student. Make your reservation now!
  • Residence Halls Tours and Refreshments

    All residence halls will be providing refreshments in the lobbies from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, April 21. Building tours will also be available on Saturday, April 21, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. that same day.

    Any visitors interested in tours can participate in tours during that time or contact Housing to set up an appointment at Housing.ilstu.edu or by phone at (309) 438-8611.

  • Money Smart Week at Children’s Discovery Museum
    Participate in story hour, make a piggy bank and engage in money-related activities as we celebrate Money Smart Week at the Children's Discovery Museum!

    • Saturday, April 21
      10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
      Free with paid admission of $6 per person ages 2 and above. Children under the age of 2 are free.
      Present your Student ID and receive $1 off admission.

  • Carnival for all ages
    Student Alumni Council will be hosting a carnival from noon - 1 p.m. prior to the Gamma Phi Circus’ Saturday matinée on the concourse of the Redbird Arena. Come out to enjoy games and win great prizes! The carnival is free to any one that has purchased a Saturday matinée ticket and is open to all ages.

  • Straight no chaser

    Acappella music never sounded so good! Straight No Chaser is a 10-member vocal band that will have you rocking out to great music of all styles! Straight No Chaser will be performing in the Braden Auditorium on Saturday, April 21 at 8pm. Tickets may be purchased at the Braden Box office.

  • Inflatable’s on the Quad
    Compete against your sibling with three inflatables on the Quad!  Race your sibling through the obstacle course, compete against other siblings in human foosball or participate in laser tag.

Sunday, April 22

  • Baseball ballgame
    Illinois State Athletics will be hosting a Sunday Runday at the Redbird baseball game on Sunday, April 22. Game starts at 1 p.m. with gates opening at noon. All kids will be invited to run the bases following the game. The concessions will be selling ice cream sundaes in miniature Redbird baseball hats for “Sunday Sundae.”

  • Family Science Day
    The Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology will be hosting Family Science Day on Sunday April 22 from 1-5 p.m. at Horton Field House. Family Science Day will feature an “Air”quarium, Technology Playground, live demo shows, 80+ Interactive Exhibits plus giveaways! Cost is $2 for advance ticket purchase or $3 at the door. Kids 2 and under are free.
