Kathy has over 25 years of practical clinical laboratory experience in hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, urinalysis, coagulation, serology, and phlebotomy used for the diagnosis and prognosis of patient care at a Level II trauma center. She acted as a key adviser to laboratory management and staff and served as laboratory educator to nursing staff and other ancillary departments. She also has developed orientation programs for laboratory staff positions.
It is no surprise that during her time at Illinois State, Kathy was an active member of the Med Tech Club.
As an alum, Kathy routed retired equipment and surplus consumables from her employer to the clinical laboratory classrooms at ISU. She also has served as a panel guest at the Mennonite College of Nursing to bridge knowledge between nursing departments and ancillary departments in a working medical center. Kathy also is active in the Health Science Alumni Association. As an alum of the ISU laboratory schools, she served for almost 20 years on the University High School Alumni Association in leadership roles including acting as the editor of the biannual newsletter publication for over 15 years.
She currently serves on the Alumni Association board of directors' awards, Homecoming and executive committees. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
