Psychology, College Student Personnel Administration St. Charles
Maggie is a strong advocate for helping meet the needs of first-generation and/or low-income college students, especially minorities. This can be seen throughout her career at Illinois State University’s University College where she has developed curriculum for college transition programs that serve academically at-risk, first year students and provided academic advisement to underrepresented student population and also during her time as program field coordinator for Illinois State University’s School of Teaching and Learning. She now serves as Elgin Community College's TRiO/Student Support Services manager.
As a student, she was heavily involved with the Association of Latin American Students and Diversity Advocacy. Now, Maggie is a mentor for Latino/a college students which was recognized by the University when she received the 2015 David Strand Diversity Achievement Award.
She currently serves on the Alumni Association board of directors' Redbird Prime and scholarship committees. She can be reached at email@example.com.
