Mike worked over 31 years at Cook County Juvenile Court, retiring as a supervising probation officer. During this time he also served as president of the local AFSCME probation union for over 22 years. He is also certified in labor management and family counseling. Mike enjoys his retirement staying involved with his community and working part time at Jewel/Osco, something he has done since 1986.
During his time at Illinois State he was very active in Student Government Association, the Athletic Council and the Black Student Union. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Omega national service fraternity and Phi Beta Sigma fraternity.
As an alum, Mike assisted in the re-chartering of the Black Colleagues Association in 1997 and served as president. He is still actively involved with BCA, serving in executive positions, on various committees and attending numerous events.
