Genena is a certified executive, leadership, and career coach with over 25 years of experience in human resources and talent management. She is the CEO and executive coach of Metamorphosis Coaching LLC and also works with Building Champions Inc. and CHIEF as a coach and facilitator. Her previous corporate experience includes leadership roles with The Jacob Group, CHRISTUS Health, Wells Fargo, and Target/Marshall Field’s Company.

Throughout her career, she has remained involved in her community and professional networks. She is a former board member of Communities in Schools and is active in several organizations, including Leadership McKinney, WOVI Dallas, HR Dallas, the National Association of Health Service Executives, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Along with the bachelor’s degree she earned from ISU, Genena holds a master’s degree in women’s leadership from Mississippi University for Women. She is a certified professional coach through the International Coaching Federation and holds multiple credentials in HR, emotional intelligence, diversity management, and facilitation. In addition to her coaching and consulting work, Genena is a published author, including the Amazon #1 bestseller Bravely She Flies and a contributing author of Breaking Barriers: A Woman’s Toolkit for Success. Her work and leadership have been featured in Ella Inspires Magazine and Black Enterprise.

While attending Illinois State University, Genena was an active member of the campus community. She served as a resident assistant in Watterson Towers and was involved in several student organizations, including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Black Student Union

She sits on the RED and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) committees.
