While at Illinois State, Jennifer was an active member of the campus community. She worked closely with math professor and high school teacher Mr. Jerry Hayden, editing equations and instructional content for a McGraw-Hill textbook. She also competed as a member of the Illinois State Soil Judging Team and volunteered for numerous events across campus, especially within the Department of Agriculture and University Farm.
Jennifer served 34 years in the Illinois Air National Guard, both active duty and guard, holding leadership roles such as executive assistant to the Wing Commander, base training manager, chief of force sustainment, and command chief of the 183d Wing. She became the first female command chief in the Illinois Air National Guard and served on the Enlisted Field Advisory Committee representing Region 4. Currently, she works as a staffing specialist for Hueman People Solutions, supporting key hiring and project coordination for major clients including University of Chicago Medicine, Duke, ADT, and FedEx.
Outside her professional career, Jennifer is active with ISU as an ambassador for the Department of Agriculture and as a member of the Alumni Association Homecoming committee. She also serves as secretary of the Bloomington Beautification Committee, and have held leadership roles in local education-focused organizations.
She serves on the Alumni Association board of directors' scholarship, RED, and Homecoming committees.
